Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become a professional actor since she was at the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute which offers classes for part-time students. At the age of ten she was involved and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach School plays and productions. Casting began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight straight auditions. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. This film was 2001's highest grossing film, breaking records during the opening day as well as the first weekend. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, and especially the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. In the following days, Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film, winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in the feature Film.
